OUR STANCE ON ANIMAL TESTIN

OUR STANCE ON ANIMAL TESTING

We have an exciting announcement—just in time for Earth Day! We’re thrilled to share that we are joining PETA’s Beauty Without Bunnies Program, certifying that we never test our products on animals. A commitment to animal welfare has been a guiding principle of Moroccanoil since our beginnings, and this partnership is the perfect way to continue that pledge. Read on to learn more.

What is Beauty Without Bunnies?

In order to receive PETA’s Beauty Without Bunnies certification, companies and their suppliers must commit never to conduct, commission, pay for, or allow animal testing at any phase of development, for both ingredients and final products.

Why was Morocccanoil just certified? Did you test on animals before?

Moroccanoil is proud to state that we are (and always have been) wholeheartedly committed to never testing our products on animals, nor have we ever commissioned third parties to conduct animal testing on our behalf. Obtaining this official certification was an important next step for our brand as we continue our commitment to animal welfare.

Why is this certification important?

This new partnership reaffirms our active commitment to never test any of our products on animals, and to never commission third parties to do so on our behalf, including our raw material providers.

Is this certification globally recognized?

Over 5,000 brands are certified by PETA’s Beauty Without Bunnies Program, making it one of the most well-known third-party certifications of no animal testing around the world.

Does this mean Moroccanoil is cruelty-free?

Under PETA’s Beauty Without Bunnies certification, the term “cruelty-free” applies only to product lines that are entirely free of animal-derived ingredients. Moroccanoil only uses the highest-quality ingredients in all our formulas, but we cannot claim to be 100% vegan as a few of our products contain non-vegan materials such as beeswax, honey, and lanolin.
